REFS
Simplified reformer configuration
Reforming units have four sections
-
Naphtha hydrofining section, removing sulfur and removing light components (C6-)
Our distillation GDS model can help control the naphtha splitter
-
Reactor section, converting paraffinic molecules to high octane aromatics.
Our reformer REFS model can help in two ways:
-
-
set reaction severity to control reformate RON and/or aromatic content
-
Predict the amount of coke, estimating future regenerator loading
-
Gas plant, separating out byproduct LPG from reformate.
Again, our distillation GDS model can help control the gas plant
-
Regenerator section, removing carbon from the catalyst by controlled combustion.
Inference of coke on catalyst by our inferential model REFS can help controlling the regenerator

Bed temperatures
-

-
Throughput
-
Feed density
-
Average boiling point
-
No PNA input. The model predicts PNA
